OBITUARY

O. B. Olson

O. B. Olson was born in Brevig, Riskekvarven, near Stavanger, Norway, June 26, 1844, and died on his old home place, north of Rosendale, July 21, 1924, aged 80 years and 1 month.

He came to America when he was 20 years old, in 1864, living for three years in Illinois and then moving to Grinnell, Iowa. At the latter place he was married in 1871. His wife died seven years ago.

In 1881 he and his family moved to Hamilton county, settling on the farm north of Rosendale, which was his home for 43 years, with the exception of one year that he lived in Story City.

Eight children survive him, namely, Mrs. Peter Soren of Pasadena, Calif.; D. B. Olson of Story City; Mrs. Ole Iverson of Spencer, Iowa; Mrs. Fred Murphy of Grinnell; Mrs. Herman Olson of Sioux Rapids, Ia.; Henry and Lizzie of Hamilton county, and Tom B. Olson of Northwood, Iowa. One daughter, Mrs. Peter Opdahl, preceded him in death.

Twenty-seven grand children and three great grandchildren, also survive, as do one brother and two sisters in Hetland, S. D., and two brothers in Norway.

Funeral services were held in Bethel church, Rev. Paulsrud officiating. The pall bearers were Messrs. T. T. Henryson, T. T. Holm, T. L. Mathre, E. P. Anderson, O. P. Frette and J. T. Heggen.
