Edward J. Sann, a farmer residing north of Blairsburg, died at Mercy Hospital yesterday afternoon from injuries caused by the kick of a horse last Friday. An operation which it was hoped might save his life was made Saturday, but this proved in vain.

Mr. Sann brought a horse from Blairsburg Friday to his farm, and shortly after arriving home, was kicked by the animal, being severely injured in the abdomen. A Clarion doctor was summoned, and the injured man brought to Mercy Hospital at Webster City. His condition was very serious following the operation on Saturday, and he passed away yesterday afternoon.

Edward J. Sann was born in Alsace-Lorraine, December 13, 1870, and was therefore, fifty-three years of age. He came to American when he was twenty-seven years of age and was married January 20, 1904 at Samanauk, Ill., to Miss Jennie Benoit, who with their six children survive him. Four daughters and two sons are mourning the death of a kind and loving father.

A brother living in Illinois and brother and sister still in France, are the only other immediate members of the family which survive.

The funeral will be held at the Catholic church south of Clarion at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning. Rev. Father Thorpe will conduct the services.
