Etta Sann, 89, Webster City, died Friday, Sept. 26, 1997 at Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion where she had been a patient for the past month. Funeral services were held on Monday morning at the Clarion United Church of Christ Congregational, with Rev. Curt Miner officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Etta Pohlman, daughter of Fred W. and Minnie Rose (Cramer) Pohlman, was born June 23, 1908 in Wall Lake Township in Wright County. She attended country school in Lincoln Township and high school in Clarion. On June 2, 1936, she married Ernest Joseph Sann at Clarion. The couple lived near Blairsburg where they farmed for many years. They retired to Webster City in 1953. She taught Sunday School at the Congregational Church in Webster City. Her husband preceded her in death in 1987.

She is survived by a sister, Violette Twedt, Clarion; two nieces, Marjorie Martin Westerheim, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Janice Sann Baldwin, East Lansing, Mich.; two nephews, Gary Martin and Dwight Sann, both of Clarion; five grand nieces; five grand nephews; and six great-grand nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jelske; and two sisters, Clara Sann and Edna Martin.

Mrs. Sann was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Webster City, Hamilton County Hospital Auxiliary and formerly the Wall Lake Social Club.
