Ernest J. Sann, 79, longtime Webster City resident, died Monday, Sept. 21 at the Hamilton County Hospital. He had been a patient for two weeks.

Committal services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Evergreen Cemetery at Clarion with memorial services at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Webster City, Rev. Ward Malloy will officiate.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today.

Ernest Joseph Sann, son of Edward Amos and Jennie Sann, was born April 28, 1908 on a farm south of Clarion. They moved to the Sann family farm north of Blairsburg a year later. He attended country school in Wall Lake township in Wright County.

He married Etta Anna Pohlman June 2, 1935 at Clarion. They resided on a farm north of Blairsburg. They moved to Webster City in 1953. For the past 27 years, they had resided at 715 White Post Drive.

Mr. Sann was engaged in farming all of his life.

Survivors are his wife; four sisters and one brother, Jane Adams of Clarion, Mary (Mrs. Louie) Mourlam of Webster City, Lela Sann of Waterloo, Freda O'Connor of Des Moines and Amos E. Sann, of Clarion; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Sann attended First Congregational Church.
