Alma Staley, 76, Webster City, died Nov. 20, 1996 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Ripley officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.

Alma Marie Bailey, daughter of John and Mary Carpenter Bailey, was born Oct. 12, 1920 on a farm near Lehigh. She attended Missouri Bend and Casey rural schools near Lehigh. On July 17, 1941 she married James Andrew Staley in Webster City. She had been employed at Hamilton County Public Hospital in the laundry department, at Southfield Care Center as a cook, and at Boondocks USA as a cashier. She retired in 1985. Her husband died in 1989.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Deane Haack, Eugene, Ore., Janice Payne and Juanita Staley, both of Webster City, Janey and Ted Dunn, Blairsburg, Jolene and Curt Dammen, Starkweather, N.D., Joyce and John Mischel, Ankeny, Miles and Jone Staley Golley, Des Moines; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Pam Staley, Webster City; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Bailey, Webster City; sisters, Velva Adams, Ames, Julia IntVeldt, Marshalltown; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Staley; brother, William Bailey; and sister, Naomi Bailey.

Mrs. Staley was a member of the First Baptist Church.
