Elmer Kunz, 77, of Webster City, died Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Hamilton County Hospital.

Graveside committal services will be Friday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Graettinger with Father Kelley officiating. Foster Funeral Home of Webster City is in charge of arrangements. No visitation is being scheduled.

The family requests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Heart Fund.

Elmer August Kunz, son of Leonard and Mae Koller Kunz, was born Nov. 3, 1911 at Mallard. He was educated at Mallard.

On June 8, 1935 he married Irene Waters at Emmetsburg.

He operated a shoe and canvas repair shop at Mallard and Graettinger. The couple later moved to Foley, Minn., where they farmed for five years. They then returned to Graettinger and farmed for several years.

In 1960, they moved to Webster City where he was employed at Perry Williams Service for several years.

Following his wife's death on Nov. 26, 1974 he continued to reside in Webster City.

On Feb. 27, 1980 he married Leona McCollough. The couple resided in Webster City where he was self-employed until last year.

Survivors include his second wife, Leona; seven sons and five daughters, Roland, Larry, Kay Paulson, Marilyn (Mrs. Kenneth) Kepler, Beverly Struyk, Leo and Charlene (Mrs. Howard) Worrick, all of Webster City, Allen of Blairsburg, Elmer Dean of Marshalltown, Alvin of Wallingford, Karen (Mrs. Joseph) Credit of Fort Dodge and Leonard of Iowa City; one stepdaughter, Patricia Langenbau of Mora, Minn., one stepson, Williams Adams of Algona, 28 grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-greatgrandchildren; seven brothers and one sister, Harold of Boone, Leonard of Yuma, Ariz., and Vincent, Raymond, Leo, Richard, LeRoy and Collette (Mrs. Francis) Curran all of Emmetsburg.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, one daughter and one brother.

He was raised in the Catholic faith and was also a member of the American Legion Post at Graettinger.
