Gene L. Hime, of Rockford, Illinois died February 19, 1999 at Swedish American Hospital. Born in Dayton, Ohio on April 5, 1927. Son of George W. Hime Sr. and Ruth D. Worthen Hime. He graduated from Cooperative High School in 1945, served in WWII, joining the Navy in February of 1945. He married Natalie B. Browne in Dayton, OH on May 1, 1948. He worked for NCR and the Frigidaire Division of General Motors in Dayton, and then was employed by Frankling Mfg., Co. both in Minneapolis, MN as Quality Control Manager and in Webster City, IA from 1966 to 1970 as Plant Manager. He moved to Rockford, Illinois and worked for Nylint Corp. as Traffic and Distribution Mgr. until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers.

He is survived by his wife, Natalie; sons, Michael (Barbara) of Minneapolis, MN, and Dane, of Grand Rapids, MI, daughter Diane (Andy, Jr) Paluck of Burgaw, NC; and brother, George W. (Dorothy) Hime, Jr. of LeHigh Acres, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Charles (Chad), Robert, Adam Gene and Victoria Hime, Ruth, Owen, Sara, Janes and Alys Eslinger; and sisters-in-law, Florence Bowlby, Betsy Huff, Claire Bohachek of Dayton, OH and Barbara (John) Dillon of Phoenix, AZ., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joan Hime Huis.

Mr. Hime was cremated at his request. There will be graveside services only in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
