Marie L. Hanus, 69, Eagle Grove, died Wednesday, October 14, 1998 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Rev. Ronald Feuerhak officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Marie LaVonne Kepler, daughter of Harold and Vera Davenport Kepler, was born April 15, 1929 on a farm in Hamilton County. She attended Webster City schools and also lived in Woolstock and Clarion. On Mar. 1, 1948, she married Donald H. Hanus in Webster City. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1969 where they owned and operated Hanus Salvage. He preceded her in death on August, 19, 1992. She continued to operate the business until her illness in April of this year. She also worked for Wilhelm Engineering in Webster City for 20 years. She was a member of the Ban de La Roche of Woolstock.

Survivors are three sons and daughter-in-law, Donald of Eagle Grove, Ronald of Webster City, and Michael and Carol of Eagle Grove, daughter, Rita Markwardt, Eagle Grove; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one step grandchild, one step-great-grandchild; three sisters, Phyllis Coleman and Charlotte Johnson of Webster City, and Lorraine Hanus of Eagle Grove; one brother Roger Kepler of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Harold Kepler Jr.
