Nancy Gillette, 63, Webster City, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 13, at the Eisenhower Memorial Hospital in Rancho Mirage, Calif. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City, Rev. James Duster officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. A Scripture service will be held Friday, Nov. 16, at 8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 5 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Nancy Jane Hammer, daughter of William and Genevieve (McGuire) Hammer, was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Des Moines. She attended school in Beverly Hills, Calif., and attended the University of Montana at Missoula. She married Dean Gillette on Feb. 28, 1949. The couple resided in Sydney, Mont., and in California, and moved to a farm southeast of Webster City in 1963. Mr. Gillette preceded her in death in October 1966. She continued to reside in Webster City, and when possible, spent winters in California.

She is survived by seven children: Margaret (Mrs. Roger) Wangler, Palm Desert, Calif.; Dean Gillette, Sheffield; Dr. Nancy (Mrs. John) Creek, Palm Desert; Mark Gillette, Marion; Timothy Gillette, Austin, Texas; Cardinal Gillette, Palm Desert; and Mary Gillette, Palm Springs, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Mary Hammer, Newport Beach, Calif.; and a brother, Joseph Hammer, Clare.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Gillette was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City, and the Catholic Daughters of America.
