Dean A. Gillette, 44, died Monday evening at the Hamilton County hospital following an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church with the Rev. Father B.G. Collins officiating and with military services at graveside in Calvary Catholic cemetery in Webster City.

Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home.

Dean Allan Gillette, son of George Henry and Edna Gillette, was born Feb. 28, 1922 at Kimball, S.D. He received his elementary schooling at Kimball and was graduated from the high school at Custer, S.D. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was located in the South Pacific war theater.

Following his discharge, he attended the University of Montana at Missoula. He was united in marriage Feb. 28, 1949 to Nancy Hammer, and following Mr. Gillette's graduation in 1950, the couple resided at Sydney, Mont., where Mr. Gillette taught school one year. They then moved to Westwood, Calif., where for several years he was employed as a purchasing agent. He later engaged in the bridge crane business in California.

In 1963, the family moved to a farm southeast of Webster City. In addition to his farming interests, he was owner of the Hawkeye Construction Co. at Boone, Iowa, where he was active in the construction of bridge cranes.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters and two sons, Margaret Genevieve, Dean Allan, Jr., Nancy, Mark, Timmy, Cardinal and Mary Margaret, all at home; three brothers and three sisters, Wayne Gillette, Missoula, Keith Gillette, Pasco, Wash., George Gillette, Missoula, Mrs. Genevieve Lasley, Cottage Grove, Ore., Mrs. Margaret Fraser, Wolf Point, Mont., and Mrs. Natalie Lass, Kadoka, S.D.
