Donald Howard Follett, 72, Webster City, died Friday, April 25, 1997 at his home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, with Dr. Jeffrey Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Follett, son of Louis and Julia (Sumpter) Follett, was born April 29, 1924 at Webster City. He graduated from Lincoln High in 1943. He was employed at Rath Packing in Waterloo. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. On February 17, 1951 he married Colleen Carroll at Nashua. The couple resided in Webster City. Follett had been employed at Frigidaire for 41 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church, U.A.W. local #442, a 24 year member of the Webster City Park Board, and a 33 year member of the Peoples Credit Union, where he served on the Board of Directors and for several years was board president.

Mr. Follett is survived by his wife; three sons, Douglas Follett and wife, Mary, Jefferson, Jeffrey Follett and wife, Leslie, Webster City, and Jon Follett, Fort Dodge; two daughters, Janet Follett, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Dawn Holdgrafer and husband, Keith, Webster City; seven grandchildren, Lori and Tony Harrah, Lacy and Aaron Follett, and Alaina, Jennie and Katie Holdgrafer; three great-grandchildren, Steven, Michael and Kayleigh; two brothers, James Follett, Webster City and George Follett, Mesa, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathryn Nairn.
