Marie (Mrs. Stewart) Brooks, 69, Webster City, died early this morning, Tuesday, July 24, at her home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 27 at 3:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home, Rev. Ward Malloy officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, until service time.

Marie Leona Morgan, daughter of George and Welda (Davis) Morgan, was born Dec. 16, 1920 in Webster City. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1939. She married Stewart Brooks on July 3, 1942 in Princeton, Mo. The couple had always resided in Webster City, where Mrs. Brooks was employed at Woolworths for several years, and also at the Webster City Country Club.

She is survived by her husband, Stewart, Webster City; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Betty Brooks, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; grandchildren Scott and Stacey Brooks; and a sister, Irene (Mrs. William) Carstens, Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Mrs. Brooks was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ of Webster City and the American Legion Auxiliary.
