Frank Ahlvers, 85, Algona, died Dec. 9, 1994 at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Mason City. Services were held today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Frank Benjamin Ahlvers, son of Frederick and Martha Ahlvers, was born Feb. 20, 1909 at Altoona, Neb. He attended school at Altoona. In 1941, he married Opal Christenson. The couple resided in Portland, Ore., where he was employed at a shipyard. They moved to Webster City in 1945, where he was employed at Maudlin Construction. His wife died in 1963. He retired in 1982 and continued to reside in Webster City. He was a resident of Southfield Care Center from 1987-89, moving to Algona in 1989.

He is survived by son, Douglas of Iowa City; daughters, Chris Ahlvers of Iowa City and DeAnn Ahlvers of California; three grandsons; sisters, Paula Thompson and Adele LeFevre, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Frederick Ahlvers, Jr. and George.
