Evelyn Adams, 68, Stanhope, died May 10, 1995 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. The body was cremated and memorial services will be held at 1:30 Saturday at Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Miltner officiating. Burial of the ashes will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Foster Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

Evelyn Louise Daehn, daughter of William and Mildred Palm Daehn, was born July 17, 1926 at Chicago, Ill. Because her parents traveled throughout her childhood, she was educated in numerous schools across the United States. She also attended Iowa Central Community College.

On July 25, 1947 she married Donald R. Adams at Fort Dodge. The couple resided in Webster City and Fort Dodge. In 1960, they moved to Aransas Pass, Texas. Her husband died in January 1962 and the family returned to Webster City in February that year. She had been employed at Modern Cleaners for several years, YOUR Inc. and Peed Publishing. In 1981, she moved back to Texas, then in 1986 she moved to Stanhope.

She is survived by daughter Penny Rae of Lehigh and son Tony Adams of Cherokee; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Robert Daehn of Kingsville, Texas; sister Mildred Kruger of Aransas Pass, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Adams, daughters Donna Rae Adams and Judith Elliott; her parents; and brother Billy Daehn.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Stanhope and the VFW Auxiliary.
