Maureta Pingenot, 83, Webster City, died Friday morning, May 31 at the Hamilton County Hospital where she had been a patient for 2 1/2 weeks. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Foster Funeral Home, Rev. Vernon Sorenson officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery.

Lora Maureta Paine, daughter of Bert and Edna (Tatham) Paine, was born July 30, 1907 in Webster City. She was educated in Webster City and graduated from high school in 1924. She attended a Minneapolis business college. She was employed as a secretary at the Webster Theatre in Webster City, and also as a secretary in California. She married Wilbur Pingenot on Dec. 25, 1935 in Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. She was a bookkeeper for her husband at the Pingenot 66 service station, and was a secretary in the Webster City school system until her retirement in 1968. She was also a part-time secretary for Herman Luppes. She was preceded in death by her husband in February 1984. She had resided at Crestview Manor for the past five years.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rhonda Pingenot, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Pingenot, all of Webster City.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Pingenot was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
