Memorial services for Donald E. Whaley, 63, will be held Thursday, July 21 at 10 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Rev. Wayne Kamin will officiate and burial will be in Graceland.

The body has been cremated. Foster Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Whaley died Thursday, July 14 at the Hamilton County Hospital.

Donald Eugene Whaley, son of Hugh and Margaret McMillen Whaley, was born Nov. 25, 1924 at Webster City. He was educated here and graduated from Webster City High School in 1943. He served in the European Theater with the Army during World War II.

He married Mary Louise Fosberg on May 28, 1947 at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City where for 22 years he was with the Whaley Brothers Plumbing Shop. For 19 years, he was with the maintenance dept. at the Hamilton County Hospital. Mr. Whaley retired in 1985 due to ill health.

Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Francine (Mrs. Carl) Lindvall of Longmont, Colo.; a son, Mark Whaley of Webster City; two grandchildren; three sisters, Irene (Mrs. Clyde) Lovell of Sun City, Calif., Frances (Mrs. E.M.) Kazarian of South Lake Tahoe, Calif. and Ruth (Mrs. Everett) Bever of Jewell; two sisters-in-law, Patti Whaley of Sun City, Ariz., and Darlene White of San Diego.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son in infancy and three brothers.

Mr. Whaley was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and the Disabled American Veterans.
