Luella Soop, 80, Webster City, died Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Southfield Care Center. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Foster Funeral Home, Robert Scott officiating. Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery.

Luella Arends, daughter of Arend and Tena Fonken Arends, was born Jan. 12, 1909 on a farm south of Kamrar, where she attended rural schools, and graduated from Kamrar High School. She married Earl Soop on Sept. 16, 1935, in Webster City. Mrs. Soop had been employed at the Hamilton County Hospital, the Super Maid Cafe and retired from Morton Frozen Foods. She was preceded in death by her husband in April 1978, and had resided at Southfield since February 1984.

She is survived by a daughter, Colleen (Mrs. Jerrold) Sexe, Fort Dodge; two step-children, Betty (Mrs. Francis) Rodewald, Falls City, Oregon and Gerald Soop, Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Klaver, Kamrar.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Soop was a member of the Church of Christ and the Royal Neighbors.
