Jerrold "Jerry" Sexe, 54, Fort Dodge, died Thursday, Nov. 16 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held today, Monday, Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Epworth United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge, Rev. William Trembly officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell. Gunderson Funeral Home of Fort Dodge was in charge of arrangements.

Jerrold Sexe was born Sept. 9, 1935 in Jewell, where he attended school and graduated as class president from Jewell High School. He married Colleen Soop on Sept. 16, 1956 in Webster City. He joined the U.S. Army in 1957 and was stationed in Korea. He was discharged in 1960, and returned to Fort Dodge, where he worked for Gus Glaser Meats for 12 years. He later worked at the National Gypsum Company for one year, and Farmland Industries for eight years. He had been a custodian for the Fort Dodge Community Schools until the time of his illness.

He is survived by his wife Colleen, Fort Dodge, a son, Ron Sexe, Sarasota, Fla.; two daughters, Kim Nelson, Rockwell City, and Kristi Lang, Garland, Texas; four grandchildren; his mother, Hannah Sexe, Jewell, three brothers, Vernon Sexe, Waterloo, Phillip Sexe, Milton, Wis., Duane Sexe, Story City; six sisters, Marie Risetter, Patty Sexe and Karen Creagor, all of Jewell; Iris Deeds, Jean Shannon and Delores McVey, all of Des Moines.

Mr. Sexe was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge.
