Marian Martha Block of Ellsworth passed away on July 16, 2023 at the age of 90.

Marian Martha (Thielmann), daughter of Max and Annie (Assing) Thielmann, was born October 26, 1932 at home in Palmer, Iowa. She was baptized into the Christian Faith at St. John Lutheran Church where she was also confirmed in 1946 in Pomeroy, IA. She graduated from Manson High school in 1951 and married Glenn Edward Block on August 5 that same year. Together, they had five children. Marian worked at Land O'Lakes Turkey Plant in Ellsworth until she retired in 1989. She also worked for the Jewell Bank until 1997.

Marian was a proud member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Ellsworth, Ellsworth Community Club, Lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary 2349 in Manson until it closed, VFW Auxiliary 1856 in Ft. Dodge and Life Member of Second Indian Head Division Association Auxiliary.

Marian loved spending time with her family and friends, cooking and meeting the group for cards every Tuesday.

Marian is survived by her children Linda (Larry) Dalbey of Ellsworth, Judy (Roger) Fitz of Gilbert, Bruce (Carlene) Block of Jewell, Dan (Kathy) Block of West Des Moines, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, infant twin son John, her parents Max and Annie, sister Anna and brothers Harold, Robert, Donald and Herbert Thielmann.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19th from 5-7 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth with the funeral following on Thursday, July 20th at 10:30am. She will be buried alongside her husband Glenn at Story Memorial Gardens in Ames, IA.
