Webster City, Iowa Journal Mon. 11 Nov. 1895

Death of Charles Ely.

After an illness of only four days, Charles Henry, third son of Mr. and Mrs. George Ely, died at the family home in this city last Friday of rheumatic fever. He was nineteen years of age and was a very bright, promising young man. His untimely death seems particularly sad, following so soon after that of his loved sister, who died but a few months since. The funeral was conducted by Dr. Crum and was attended by the G.A.R. and S. of V., the latter of which he was a member, and a large concourse of relatives and friends. The family have the sympathy of all in their affliction.
