Robert Dale Peed, 78, Badger, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003 at his home. A private visitation and burial service are planned. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Des Moines with Pastor Dave Nerdig officiating.

Robert (Bob) Peed was born April 7, 1925 in Shell Rock, Iowa, the son of Francis and Ruth (Richardson) Peed. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II from 1943 to 1946 aboard the U.S.S. New Jersey. He married Donna Jean Lovell Aug. 18, 2946 in Des Moines. The couple resided in Fort Dodge until moving to Badger in 1971. He retired from U.S. Gypsum after 33 years there.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Tom Sifrit, Roberta and Pete Anderson and Arlene Peed, all of Fort Dodge; sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and DeAnne Peed, Janesville, WI, and Jack and Kristine Peed, Webster City, 17 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, and one step great-great-grandchild, his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Porter, Margaret Woodman and Lenora Sindlinger, a brother Richard Peed and special niece Jo Anne Dickmeyer.
