Carroll Keith Wood, 78, Fern Park, Fla., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 of cancer. Memorial services were held Oct. 4 in Florida.

Carroll was born in Adel. He married Phyllis Smith in 1944 at Webster City. He was an infantry scout in the military in World War II and served in Europe. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa. He first worked as a corporate attorney and later moved to Webster City where he practiced law and also served as Hamilton County Attorney and Justice of the Peace. He retired in 1984 and moved to Florida where he enjoyed traveling and golf. He was active in his church, serving as an elder and a mentor. He was a Gideon and supported missionary outreaches.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, brother Marvin Wood, children Sherry Leary, Constance Vande Krol, Chris Umthum and Tim Wood; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Beulah Wood, and brothers Eddie and Floyd.
