Dorothy Griep, 88, of Webster City, formerly of Blairsburg, died Sunday, October 19, 2003 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the United Church of Christ Congregational with Rev. Ian Hoover officiating. Burial will be in the Blairsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral Home and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Dorothy Anna Beaver, daughter of William and Magdalena Treband Beaver was born on October 8, 1915 at Fort Dodge. She received her education from the Fort Dodge Community Schools, graduating in 1934 and later graduating from the Tobin Business College. On April 19, 1945 she married Arthur Griep at Fort Dodge where the couple resided. They divorced in 1950. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Culligan Water Conditioning and Olson Distributing. Mrs. Griep retired in 1978. She moved to Blairsburg in 1984. She had resided at Southfield Wellness Community since May of 2003.

Mrs. Griep is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Richard Allen; grandson, Jeffrey Allen, all of Blairsburg and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational of Blairsburg. She was also a member of the Blairsburg Quilters, Webster City Quilt Patch Club, Williams Social Club and the Williams Womens Club.
