Lillian Mae Busch, 92, of Ellsworth, passed away January 24, 2022 at Windsor Manor in Webster City. Funeral services were held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. Burial followed in Vegors Cemetery near Stratford.

Lillian was born on April 4, 1929 in rural McCallsburg to Arthur and Hannah Gertie (Heng) Twedt. She graduated from McCallsburg High School and then attended Iowa Teachers College. Lillian married Irvin Carl Busch on January 1, 1950. He passed away on January 9, 2011. After her children got old enough, she worked for South Hamilton Schools for many years. Lillian was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in many activities at the church.

She enjoyed croquet, playing cards, fishing, camping, watching baseball and family get togethers. Lillian enjoyed cooking and was very good at it. When she was younger, she enjoyed going on Harley rides with Irvin.

Lillian is survived by her daughters, Beatrice (Robert) Napier of Webster City, Christine (Steve) Bollig of Stanhope, Ruth Ann Anderson of Kelley and Jane Story of State Center; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Busch; a son-in-law, Jack Cleary; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Charles; a daughter, Donna Cleary; a grandson, Marty Anderson; a great grandson, Lucas and two sisters, Grace Johnson and Thelma Bowman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral Home in Jewell is entrusted with arrangements.
