Services for Elmer A. Raven, 79, will be held Saturday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Raymond Roden and Rev. Roy Miltner officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Foster Funeral home after noon Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday.

He died June 16 at the Hamilton County Hospital.

Elmer A. Raven, son of Andrew and Christina Jensen Raven, was born August 6, 1908 at Webster City. He attended Webster City Schools and married Dimple Rector on August 24, 1931 in the English Lutheran Church parsonage at Webster City.

The couple resided in Webster City. Mr. Raven worked with his father in carpentry work until he opened an auto body shop on West Second St., later moving to other locations. He was most recently located at the corner of Seneca and Bank St., retiring in 1972.

Besides his wife, survivors are one daughter, Charlotte Kay Schleisman of Bettendorf; a former daughter-in-law, Judy Raven Pigsley of Webster City; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter of Webster City and Bill of Muir, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four brothers and one sister. Mr. Raven was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was financial secretary and treasurer for many years, served on the church council and was a member of Lutheran Men's Brotherhood.
