Iowa Falls man killed in accident on Stagecoach Rd.

A 45-year-old Iowa Falls man died in a one-vehicle accident on Stagecoach Road (R-21) early Sunday morning.

Robert Jessen was killed when he was driving a 1993 Ford Escort southbound on Stagecoach Road, about three and a half miles south of Highway 20, and he apparently failed to negotiate a curve, according to the Iowa State Patrol. The vehicle entered the east ditch, rolled, and the driver was ejected. Road conditions were wet and rainy at the time of the accident at about 6 a.m. Sunday, according to patrol reports.

Assisting the state trooper at the scene were the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and EMS and Fire and Rescue crews from Webster City.

Robert K. Jessen, 45, Iowa Falls, formerly of Eagle Grove, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Mary Green will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Visitation is Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.

Robert Keith Jessen Jr. was born May 14, 1959 at the Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. He attended schools in Webster City and Eagle Grove. Bob had worked at A.G.P. in Eagle Grove for 22 years. He was currently employed by Christianson Farms Feedmill in Iowa Falls where he had worked for the last 3 years.

Bob's hobbies included reading World War II books, camping, sledding and watching stock car racing. He loved to cook for his family and friends.

Survivors include four daughters, Sara and her husband Ryan Ell, Becky and her husband Jean Zigrang, Megan Jessen and Holly Jessen, all of Eagle Grove; girlfriend Sharon Tilkes and her daughter, Jessica of Iowa Falls; mother, Shirley and her husband Lundy Hilpipre of Eagle Grove; father Robert Jessen Sr. of Dardanelle, Ark.; two sisters, Barb and her husband Wayne Boyd of Goldfield; and Kristi and her husband Kirk Simons of Eagle Grove; a brother Brad and his wife Diane Jessen of Eagle Grove; seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
