Derrald D. Bauer, 72, of Centerville died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services are Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with Rev. Carl Heien officiating. Burial will follow at the Livingston Cemetery south of Numa.

He was born the son of Russell and Golda (Vulgamott) Bauer on August 3, 1932 in Webster City. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1952. On March 22, 1953 Derrald was united in marriage to Sally Burgin in Webster City, Iowa. Derrald farmed southwest of Numa, Iowa since moving here in 1967, until he retired in 2002.

He is survived by his wife Sally, sons Kevin of Centerville; Kurt of Story City and Kreg Bauer, Centerville, daughter Kim Ferguson and her husband Leslie of Carlisle, Iowa, brother Garry Bauer of Bettendorf and sister Judy Olson of Fort Dodge, 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
