Gladys Westwick, 90, of Bethany Manor in Story City died Monday, Oct. 26 at the Story City Memorial Hospital.

There will be a funeral service Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. at the Bethany Manor Chapel. A second funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 29 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williams. Burial will be in Rose Grove Cemetery in rural Williams.

Visitation will be held prior to each of the services. Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home of Story City is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 20, 1902 in Stanhope, the daughter of Jacob Bottorff and Eva Shafer Bottorff.

On June 24, 1920 she married Vernon Westwick at Webster City. She was a homemaker and also was a cook for the Williams School District.

The couple lived on a farm near Williams for 13 years, before moving into town and living there for 40 years.

Following her husband's death on July 30, 1975 she lived in Webster City and Nevada. In 1980, she moved to Bethany Manor.

Survivors include two daughters, Lenore Kelso of Ames and Arlene Hamilton of Iowa Falls; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers and two daughters.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Williams and the American Legion Auxiliary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Williams or to Bethany Manor.
