Milton Ruppel, 90, of Webster City, died Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the Hamilton Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the First Congregational Church, with Rev. Howard Hunt officiating. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Edward Milton Ruppel, son of George and Mary Adams Ruppel, was born February 17, 1914 on a farm south of Webster City. At the age of six, he moved with his parents to Webster City. They moved to a small farm north of Webster City in 1929. He received his education in a rural school south of Webster City and graduated from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1931. He farmed and also operated the Brookside Dairy north of Webster City. On March 22, 1936 he married Ruth Lenore Westwick at Williams. The couple resided at Webster City, later moving to the family farm. Along with farming, in 1953, he worked at Frigidaire, retiring in 1979.

Mr. Ruppel is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Larry Jacobson of Woolstock; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Ann Ruppel of Bettendorf, Rick and Mary Ruppel of Story City, 3 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-granddaughter, Brooke Daniels in 2003.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church, held various church offices, former Elks Lodge member, as a youth, was active in 4-H and DeMolay.
