Zelma M. Bonner, 92, of Webster City, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Burial will be at the Cass Township Cemetery, northeast of Webster City. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Zelma Marie Hyatt, daughter of John and Mabel Enburg Hyatt, was born July 30, 1912 at Webster City. She received her education from the Webster City Community schools. On July 17, 1948 she married Boyd D. Bonner at Omaha, NE. The couple resided in Webster City. Zelma was employed for several years for Montgomery Wards. In 1964, the family moved to Guelph and Galt Ontario, Canada. They later lived in St. Cloud, MN., and Jefferson before returning to Webster City. The couple retired to Harlingen, Tx. They returned to Webster City in 1988, due to Mr. Bonner failing health. Mr. Bonner died on September 7, 1989.

Mrs. Bonner is survived by her stepsons, Donald and Robert Bonner; five grandchildren; brother-in-law, Arnold Bechtel of Webster City and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Boyd, she was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Johnson, Jr.; her parents; brother, Almarian (Bud) Hyatt; sisters, Louella Hyatt and Doris Bechtel.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church; Asbury United Methodist Women, former member of the Webster City Womens Club and the Webster City Country Club.

Zelma enjoyed bowling, golf, crossword puzzles and needlework. She loved to travel and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Asbury United Methodist Women, 921 Des Moines Street, Webster City, Iowa 50595; Israel Family Hospice House, 400 South Dakota Ave., Ames, IA 50014 or a charity of your choice.
