Etta Anna Wendt Harfst, 96, was born May 18, 1908 to Henry R. Wendt and Minnie Schierbeck Wendt at Ledyard, Ia. The family later moved to Mason County, IL.

On February 16, 1927, she married Fred Harfst. They were parents of three sons and lived in the Muscatine area for a number of years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City.

Mrs. Harfst died Nov. 4, 2004 at Southfield Care Center, Webster City, IA. Survivors include her sons: Richard (Shirley) of Stockton, Calif., Donald (Gerri) of Ankeny, IA and daughter-in-law Kay Harfst, Webster City, IA, grandchildren, Deborah, Alan, Karin, Kent, Kyle and seven great-grandchildren, sisters, Leta Trimpe of Havana, IL,; Lucille Trimpe of Havana, IL and brother, Robert Wendt of Havana, IL., and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, son Kenneth, her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Visitation was held Sunday at Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, Muscatine. Graveside services were held Monday at 11 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine.
