Margaret Lenning, 84, Webster City, died Aug. 15, 2004 at Hamilton Hospital. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Fosters Funeral and Cremation Center with Rev. Peter Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Margaret Alverta Desher, daughter of Samuel and Agnes Hoisington Desher, was born October 3, 1919 at Eldora. She attended schools in Hardin and Hamilton Counties and graduated from Jewell High School. On November 18, 1936 she married Virgil Leonard Lenning at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City. She had worked at Morton Frozen Foods, Franklin's (Electrolux) for many years, and for over 20 years, had worked in housekeeping at the Executive Inn. Mr. Lenning died January 21, 1958. She retired in 2002.

Mrs. Lenning is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Robert Geerts of Morrison, Il., son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Sharon Lenning of Overton, Ne., four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Alice McCoy and Lois Mason, both of Webster City; Mavis Miller of Boone; special friend, Marcel Hilpipre of Webster City; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Verleen Lenning in 1958; her parents, two grandchildren, one great-grandson, five brothers and four sisters.
