Brandon L. Shimon, 23, of Scottsdale, Arizona, died Monday, July 26, 2004 in a one-car accident at Mesa, Az. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Rev. Scott Jones officiating. Visitation will be at the Foster Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday.

Brandon Lee Shimon, son of Leo and Carla Christensen Shimon, was born September 30, 1980 at Salt Lake City, Utah. He started his education in Wisconsin and moved to Webster City with his family in 1991. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1999. In 2001, Brandon and Scott Erickson moved to Mesa, Az. Brandon attended Arizona State and worked at various locations in that area. He was employed by Indian Bend Casino at Scottsdale.

Brandon is survived by his father, Leo Shimon of Webster City; mother, Carla Shimon of Elk River, Mn., sister and brother-in-law, April and Lynn Mulholland of Webster City; niece and nephew, Lynn (Bubba) and Hannah Mulholland, grandparents, John and Bonnie Shimon of Pocahontas; Pauline and Paul Cady of Zimmerman, Mn., great-grandmother, Florence Christensen of Hutchinson, Mn., uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Kenny Christensen.

While in Webster City High School, he lettered in basketball, football and baseball. He was a football and baseball referee. In Arizona, he was involved in various fitness programs and played on a men's fast pitch softball team.
