Mae Buzick, 91, of Webster City, died Monday, July 26, 2004 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Shelly officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and at the church after 11 a.m. Friday.

Mae Ella Barkema, daughter of Tim and Cathryn Wessels Barkema, was born February 9, 1913 on a farm north of Jewell. She attended rural schools near Jewell and graduated from Jewell High School. On March 31, 1936 she married Kenneth Arthur Buzick at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City and operated Annas Studio, a photography business. She had also been employed at the Webster City Country Club, Wards, Country Garden Store and Webster Theater. Mr. Buzick died Sept. 30, 1998. She continued to reside at Webster City.

Mrs. Buzick is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Larry Kling of Webster City, daughter-in-law, Jean Buzick of Webster City; grandchildren, Sandra Caquelin, Dawn Diaz, Connie Just, Jeffrey Baker and Kris Gregg, step-grandchildren, Mark and Melanie Mastin, 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Buzick in 1999; her parents, brothers, Hans, Peter and Willis Barkema, sisters, Margaret Johnson, Ricky Olson, Kathryn Zimmerman, Dorothy Johnson and Geneva Lockhart.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Dorcas Circle and many other areas of her church, a Girl Scout Leader and a past president of the Town and Country Garden Club.
