Howard K. Oberender, 88, formerly of Blairsburg, passed away July 26, 2004 at the Martin Luther Manor Nursing Home in Bloomington, Minn. Funeral services will be Thursday at the White Funeral Home Chapel, 12804 Nicollet Ave. S., Burnsville, Minn., with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens, Burnsville.

Howard served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received a Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a Purple Heart. He was a life member of the Federated United Church of Christ.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Wilson) Oberender and is survived by his sons, Larry and Rick; friend and caretaker Joan Smith; grandchildren, John (Reena) VandeMoore and Christian and Mellisa Oberender; and great-grandchild, Anthony VandeMoore.
