George W. Myers, 91, Webster City, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the Immanuel Medical Center at Omaha. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in the Cass Township Cemetery, north of Webster City. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

George Wilmer Myers, son of Harvey and Florence Stone Myers, was born Aug. 21, 1912 on a farm south of Webster City. He received his education in rural schools and graduated from Lincoln High School at Webster City. On Jan. 1, 1939 he married Neva Lorene Dick at her parents' home east of Highview. The couple farmed in the Duncombe-Webster City areas for several years. He retired from farming in 1960. He then worked for Morton Frozen Foods, the YMCA of Fort Dodge and the Webster City High School. Mrs. Myers died Jan. 1, 2004.

Mr. Myers is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Eldon and Beverly Myers of Jasper, Mo.; Howard and Linda Myers of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Scott Myers, Shelly and Michael Stone, Stuart Myers, Randy and Emily Myers, Denise and Michael Ellis; three great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Clifford and Alice Myers of Webster City; Dorothy Welp of Glenwood; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robert Myers, in infancy.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.
