Marilynn Caudle Lindmark, 78, Stratford, died Saturday, June 5, 2004 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams with Rev. Tom Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery with a committal service at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be at the Surls Funeral Home in Williams Monday from 5-8 p.m.

Marilynn May Coomes, daughter of Maurice and Avis Odem Coomes, was born Nov. 10, 1925 at Wiota. She graduated from Wiota High School in 1943. For her exemplary play in high school basketball, she was awarded tournament Health Queen, then was inducted into the Iowa Girls' Basketball Hall of Fame in 1964. She attended Simpson College and the Cedar Falls Teacher's College. She was a Home Economics teacher in Alexander. She married Wayne Caudle on Aug. 15, 1948. He preceded her in death. On Oct. 2, 2004 she married Dorrell Lindmark at Williams. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts and dancing. Marilynn was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the church board, Elderbridge and SALT.

Survivors are her husband, Dorrell Lindmark, Stratford; two daughters, Rita Knoll and husband Arnold of Fort Collins, Colo.; and Avis Pruin of Williams; a son, Douglas Caudle and wife Victoria, Fruitland, Wash.; seven grandchildren; her mother, Avis Coomes of Atlantic; two sisters, Donnis Reed and her husband Howard of Atlantic; and Sharon Wag and husband Harold of Timnath, Colo. She was preceded in death by her father, first husband, two sons, Bruce and Dennis Caudle; and a brother, Dean Coomes.

Memorials may be made to the Israel Family Hospice Home, 400 South Dakota, Ames, Iowa 50014; or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams.
