Ramona Williams, 88, of Stratford, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church at Stratford, with Rev. Jim Mead officiating. Burial will be in the Vegors Cemetery, northwest of Stratford. Visitation will be at the church from 5-9 p.m. Friday and prior to the service on Saturday. Arrangements were made with Foster Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Ramona Pearl Kennedy, daughter of William and Edith Schmidt Kennedy, was born January 17, 1916 on a farm north of Blairsburg. She attended rural schools in the Wall Lake area and graduated from Clarion high school in 1935. On Dec. 25, 1938 she married James Harold Williams at Clarion. The couple farmed north of Stratford for 37 years and at Osceola for 8 years. They retired and moved back to Stratford in 1980. Mr. Williams died January 1, 1991. She continued to reside at Stratford. She had been a seamstress for many years, also repaired sewing machines and had taught sewing at the adult night school at Stratford.

Mrs. Williams is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Wesley Berdar of Hermiston, Or., Karen and Leigh Wyborny of Houston, Tx., Kathryn and Dallas Paulsen of Maricopa, Az., son and daughter-in-law, Kerwin (Bud) and Marcia Williams of Fort Collins, Co., 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sisters, Dorothy Foster of East Moline, Ill., Deloris Axley of Corwith; Iris Bagnard of St. Peters, Mo., Zola Kinnick of Footville, Wi., sister-in-law, Alberta Dwinell of Hot Springs, Ar.; several nieces and nephews, special friends, Myron and Geri Kent of Stratford, Marvin and Shirley Stakey of Story City, Lorie Stakey of Tipton and Doran Stakey of Kamrar.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Shirley Scott, brothers Ronald and James Kennedy.

Her memberships included - First Baptist Church at Stratford, Ladies Missionary Society, Ladies Aid Society, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, lead Bible Studies, American Legion Auxiliary, Dayton Wranglers Saddle Club and volunteer at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 15 years.
