Frances Guss, 84, of Webster City, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Graceland Cemetery, with William Kiley, second counselor to the Bishop, officiating. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home after 9:30 a.m. Saturday until 10:45 a.m.

Frances Almeda Ambrose, daughter of Harry and Almeda McCollough Ambrose, was born November 30, 1919 at Webster City. She attended Webster City schools and graduated from Lincoln High. She attended A.I.B. at Des Moines for 1 1/2 years. On June 1, 1952 she married James Lawrence Guss at Webster City. The couple resided at Webster City. She was a stenographer for Hahne Printing for 31 years. Mr. Guss died February 2, 1977. She retired in 1980 and continued to reside at Webster City. She had resided at Southfield Wellness Community since October of 2001.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Fort Dodge, the Relief Society of her church, the Grey Ladies of Hamilton Hospital, the Webster City Senior Citizens Club.
