Loretta Ness, 95, of Webster City, formerly of Duncombe, died Sunday, March 7, 2004 at Crestview Manor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. David Deckard officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Loretta Caroline Goehring, daughter of Andrew and Nellie Snell Goehring was born May 10, 1908 in Colfax Township, near Duncombe. She received her education from the Duncombe schools. On January 22, 1924 she married Sam C. Ness at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed near Duncombe, then moved to Duncombe in 1935. Loretta was a homemaker. Mr. Ness died on July 14, 1999. She had been residing at Crestview Manor since July of 2001.

Mrs. Ness is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Bob Hansch of Duncombe, son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Joyce Ness of Bedford, TX., three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Sam, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Harold Goehring and one sister, Mildred Taxted.

She was a member of the Washington Lutheran Church in Duncombe.
