Rena Anderson, 97, Stratford, died at the Stratford Nursing and Rehab Center in Stratford on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000. Services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford with Rev. Dale Schoening officiating. A private burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery north of Stratford. Visitation will be held at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9 - 11:30 a.m. when the casket will be taken to the church. The family will be present Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. Following the services, the body will be cremated.

Rena Dahlien was born August 10, 1903 in Stratford, the daughter of Ed and Selma Anderson Dahlien. She was a 1921 graduate of Stratford High School and worked at various businesses in Stratford, was a school cook at Stratford High School, worked in clothing retail in Webster City, where she also managed a clothing store, and was a nurses aide at Stratford Care Center. She married Earl E. Anderson on Nov. 22, 1941 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Earlys and Roger Tonkinson, Mesa, Ariz., one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Donella Iles, Stratford; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in January of 1982, an infant daughter, Dorothy Iles, and one sister, Agnes Sackrison in December, 1990.
