Helen C. McNelly, 82, Webster City, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000 at the Hamilton Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Morgan and Cindi O'Brien, ministry assistant, officiating. Burial will be in the Saratoga Cemetery, south of Webster City, prior to the services. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and until 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

Olive Helen Dorothy Conradi, daughter of Oliver and Ethel King Conradi, was born Feb. 5, 1918 at Washburn, ND. She graduated from Anoka, Minn. high school in 1936 and attended the University of Minnesota. On Sept. 7, 1938 she married Chester Hibbard McNelly at Anoka, Minn. The couple resided in Macintosh, Minn. They also resided in Anoka and Vinton, Iowa. In 1951, they moved to Webster City. She operated a catering business out of her home and later operated "Helen's Party Room" at the Willson Hotel.

Survivors are her husband, Chester, daughters and sons-in-law, Jerre and Jim Salzer, Westfield, Mass., Elizabeth and Dave Weieneth, Mary Burtnett, all of Webster City; Sarah McNelly, Woolstock; sons and daughters-in-law, Chet and Jan McNelly, Donald and Paris McNelly, all of Webster City, 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Kathleen Conradi in infancy, step-father, Roy A. Nelson, step-brother, A. Udell Nelson.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, RSVP and a SHARE volunteer.
