Harold Pallesen, 89, Webster City, formerly of Nevada, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000 at Southfield Care Center in Webster City. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Becker Funeral Home in Jewell with Rev. John Grebner officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. Friends may call one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hamilton County Hospice.

Harold Emanuel Pallesen was born March 22, 1911 in Adair, the son of Peter Nels and Johanna Jensen Palleson. He grew up in the Adair area. He married Darlene Carroll at Webster City. They owned and operated a summer resort at Pequot Lakes, Minn. They came to Jewell and he worked at the Farmers Cooperative Elevator in Ellsworth until he retired in 1970. They moved to Nevada where they lived for the past 30 years. This summer, they moved to Webster City.

Survivors are his wife, Darlene, Webster City, a daughter and son-in-law, Marilynn "Lynn" and Jerry Cayler of Galt; a daughter-in-law, Helen Palleson of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Matthew Cayler and wife Julie, Robin Bisel and husband Doug, Sara Pallesen Fry and husband Kris and Jennifer Pallesen; two great-grandchildren, Sam Cayler and Mekenzie Bisel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael Ray Pallesen in June of 1998, a sister, Minnie Norgaard and brother, Raymond Pallesen.
