Friday, August 11, 2000Clarice Coats, 80, Stratford, died Thursday, August 10, 2000 at the Stratford Care Center. Mrs. Coats was cremated and graveside services will be held at a later date.
Clarice Maxine Williams, daughter of Clarence and Cora Pummill Williams, was born Sept. 2, 1919 at Gowrie. She received her education in the Stanhope Public School. On Feb. 21, 1941 she married Clark C. Coats at Grant City, Mo. The couple farmed northwest of Stanhope. She had worked at the Jewell Care Center for several years. In September of 1998, she moved to the Stratford Care Center.
Survivors are her husband, Clark; sons, Arvel Coats of Springfield, Mo., Steven Coats of Tempe, Ariz., Mark Coats of Charlotte, NC., Randy Coats of Ames, Kim Coats of Bakersfield, Calif., seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a sister Ruth Carlson of Boone.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
She was a member of the Stanhope Parish and was active in church work.
