Alvina Oskvig Porter, 88, Iowa Falls, died Monday, July 31, 2000 at Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Surls Funeral Home, Iowa Falls, with Rev. Tom Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth. Friends may call at Surls Funeral Home Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for those wishing to express sympathy.

Alvina Oskvig was born December 11, 1911 on the family farm at Williams to Odin and Isabelle Welland Oskvig. She attended high school and graduated from Williams High School. She married Clyde Porter and was a homemaker. She was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams.

Survivors are three brothers; Melvin, Virgil and Clarence Oskvig, all of Williams, a sister, Ora Hamre of Iowa Falls; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Beatryce Duden and Bernice Ratzke; and two brothers, Elmer and Ernest Oskvig.
