Doris Ann Smith, 63, Blairsburg, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at her home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. John Flaherty officiating. Burial will be in the Alden Cemetery, Alden. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday and prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.

Doris Ann Kornack, daughter of Alfred and Gertrude Even Kornack, was born June 11, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wis. She graduated from Pius Senior High School at Milwaukee. On Sept. 22, 1958 she married Lester Junior Christenson at Storm Lake. Mr. Christenson died Sept. 30, 1959 in an auto accident. On April 2, 1963 she married Marlin Lyle Smith at Caldonia, Minn. The couple made their home in Blairsburg. Mrs. Smith worked for Clearview Cattle Company as secretary and bookkeeper for nearly 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, Marlin; three sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Heidi Christenson, Auburn, Wash., Keith and Barbara Smith of Chattary, Wash., and John and Darla Smith of Langley AFB, Va; daughters and sons-in-law, LeAnn and Gary Riedeman of Edmond, Okla., Cheryl and Greg Lascheid of Alden; 12 grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert A. Kornack of Greenfield, Wis., John and Sandy Kornack of Franksville, Wis., and several nieces and nehews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Lester.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, including Tanner Lascheid who spent many fun filled days with her. Doris was very active in the Iowa Reunion Registry, where she helped adoptees locate their birth parents and siblings.
