Floyd Kauffman, 74, Ankeny, died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at USA Healthcare in Urbandale. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ with Rev. Carl Dorner officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #191. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Floyd Alan Kauffman, son of H.C. and Luetta Boehm Kauffman, was born Dec. 1, 1928 on a farm near Rolfe. He attended the Des Moines Township School at Rolfe, Iowa. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Navy in 1946. On July 15, 1951, he married Dolores Kraft at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. In 1968, they moved to Webster City and in 2000 to Ankeny. Floyd worked in management for Fareway Food Stores for 27 years until he retired due to his health.

Mr. Kauffman is survived by his wife, Dolores of Ankeny; sons and daughter-in-law, Tim and Leslie Kauffman, Webster City; Jon, Jason and Joshua, all of Ankeny; daughters and sons-in-law, Faun and Dave Wagner of Sunnyvale, Calif., Jennifer and Dave Tuttle of San Jose, Calif., Rhoda Sebree of LaCrosse, Wis.; Eve and Bill Hatch of Prior Lake, Minn., Holly and Stu Schmitz of Ankeny, Joy and Troy Reisdorf, Webster City, Jessica Kauffman, Ankeny, 28 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Henrietta Wendt, Des Moines; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Floyd taught Sunday School classes and led bible studies for several years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
