Clarabel Louise Volker, 92, died Saturday, Feb, 1, 2003 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services are Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church with Rev. Glen Kappelmann officiating. Burial will be prior to the service at 10 a.m. in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. There is no visitation. Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.

Clarabel Louise Volker, daughter of Edward and Edith Shaw Rinehimer, was born March 27, 1910 in Oelwein. She graduated from Webster City High School and Drake University in 1970. She taught in a one-room school for two years and taught in the Fort Dodge Community School for 20 years. She married Paul Volker on Oct. 10, 1930 in Peoria, Ill. Other residences included Fort Dodge, St. Paul and Kansas City. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, a life member of the Iowa State Education Association, Bible study fellowship, Retired Teachers of Webster County, Chapter B1 of TTT Society, and DAR Sun Dial Chapter of Ames. She was also a volunteer of the Library Reading group at Riverside Nursing Home.

Survivors are her son, Dr. Roger Volker; a daughter, Judy (Phil) Hahn of Des Moines; sister, Lucile Dohrman; six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Volker; three brothers, George, Ralph and Lloyd Rinehimer, a sister, Marian Doolittle, and one great-grandson.

Memorials may be sent to Lutheran Social Services or Lutheran World Hunger Fund, in care of Bethesda Lutheran Church.
