John Wilson, 35, Webster City, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Morgan and Steve Shelley, officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery with graveside military rites to be conducted by American Legion Post #191. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

John Barry Wilson, son of Richard and Sally Ladd Wilson, was born August 13, 1967 at Waterloo. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1985. He served with the U.S. Navy for 3 years at Keyport, Wash. He served with the Naval Reserve for 3 years including the Gulf War. He received his B.A. in elementary education from Upper Iowa University-Des Moines Campus in 1995. He student taught at Crawford Elementary School in Ames. He had worked at Sigler Printing in Ames. He had resided at Aurora, Colo. for 6 years, moving to Webster City last summer.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his parents, Richard and Sally Wilson of Webster City; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Marcia Wilson of San Antonio, Texas, sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Jeremy Buckels of Webster City; nieces, Hannah Buckels and Kara Wilson; nephews, Zackary Anderson and Joshua Wilson; maternal grandmother, Dolores Ladd, Webster City; paternal grandparents, Ray and Ruth Wilson of Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Ladd.
