Shirley Riley, 67, Webster City, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at Southfield Wellness Community at Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Doug Tiffany officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Friday and at the church after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Shirley Jane Hall, daughter of Joseph and LaVonne Hanson Hall, was born July 16, 1935 at Eagle Grove. She attended Eagle Grove Schools, graduating in 1953. On March 21, 1954, she married Gerald (Jerry) Riley at Eagle Grove. The couple farmed south of Webster City for 9 years, then moved to Webster City in 1963. She had been employed at the Hamilton Hospital as a certified nursing assistant, Franklins (Electrolux), the Freeman-Journal in advertising, editor and sales for the Shoppers Guide and was an agent for New York Life Insurance.

Mrs. Riley is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Doug Ritter, Michele and Frank Brewer, all of Webster City, Melanie Lindsay of Romeoville, Ill., grandchildren, August Ritter of Williams, Kristine and Joel Anderson of Webster City, Daniel and Joseph Lindsay of Romeoville, Ill.; step-mother Marjorie Hall of Mobile, Ala.; brother and wife James and Deb Hall of Kansas City, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, a volunteer at Southfield Wellness Community and was involved in classes with Mobile Source of Light.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Mobile Service of Light.
